Hi, everyone!  I’m official!  I’ve got my MFA!!!  It’s been a fantastic, but busy semester and I haven’t been able to post much.  However, I have am currently documenting some new work and will have photos up soon.  To tide you over, here are a couple of images of works that sold in the recent MFA show.

C’est fini!

Just finished detailing the muscles. Very excited!

Wolfie is done!

Spent today finalizing & adding depth to the wolf skeleton today. I love his expression! Tomorrow, I’ll be consulting with my professor before adding the final details to the human muscles.

A LONG day of work

Sketched in the leg muscles and some more on the upper arm and added a lot of detail to the bones on the lefthand side. Worked on the drawing for around 8 hours.

This past Sunday, I took some time out from my anatomy studies to move forward on some encaustic pieces that have been hanging around.

These first 2 are 99.9% done, but just need to be fused.

Developing muscles

Began working on the torso muscles tonight after work. Those weren’t too bad, but the upper arm is tricky from the armpit up because of the angle and twist of the way it is raised. Feel like I’m at a stopping point tonight (also my back is killing me), so I’ll get here bright & early Saturday morning with fresh eyes & body and keep on chugging along.

Wolfiness!

Finally have the wolf skeleton blocked in better. Still needs some fine tuning, though.

Under construction

Still working on Big Bad’s stance, ribcage & spine. Really enjoying the facial expression, though.

Enter the Big Bad!

The ribcage and transition to the neck and skull of the wolf are proving difficult since the angle is 3/4 and slightly foreshortened, but I’m hoping to be able to keep the wolf’s facial features to emphasis licking its chops.
