“No Ceiling, Only Sky” Exhibition at SOHA Gallery. Opening night is June 2, from 6-10 pm.

I will have a piece in an upcoming show, “No Ceiling, Only Sky”, which opens on Friday, June 2, at the SOHA Gallery in the South Hampton area. The gallery address is 4915 Macklind Ave, St. Louis, MO 63109 (S. of Chippewa, at Neosho).  Here are the details from the event page:

No Ceiling, Only Sky | SOHA Gallery Celebrates Women
June 2 – June 18.
 
Opening Night:  Friday, June 2, 6pm – 10pm
Regular Gallery Hours:  Friday 4-7, Saturday and Sunday 1-4.

As SOHA approaches its sixth anniversary, we want to honor the collaboration of our team Julie Malone, Megan Rieke & Kat Dunne. As a Mom & Mom & Mom business, we strive to make SOHA a home for St. Louis artists and art lovers.  

“No Ceiling, Only Sky” includes diverse works that represent some role, identity, form, or moment with a woman at its center.

Hi, everyone!  I’m official!  I’ve got my MFA!!!  It’s been a fantastic, but busy semester and I haven’t been able to post much.  However, I have am currently documenting some new work and will have photos up soon.  To tide you over, here are a couple of images of works that sold in the recent MFA show.

Encaustic mixed media demo on Sunday, September 21, from 1-3 pm

Weekend Studio Time Part Deux

Loki piece after “burning in” last night’s oil painting. (Gently heating the painted area & wax to bond the oil paint to the beeswax layer below.)

Weekend Studio Time

Working on my encaustics today. The apple is a laser transfer, and I plan on painting the branch, leaves, and possibly highlights on the apple in oil paint.

Did a laser jet transfer on the other one I’m working on, but I’m not sure I like the position. I think I’m gonna scrape the spider off and add one slightly bigger and a little more lower and left.

Bradán and Andalusia have also sold!

I feel truly honored – the same gentleman who originally bought Poppy Dreams through the Art St. Louis XXIX, The Exhibition show decided to go ahead and purchase Bradán and Andalusia as well.  They can continue to live together!  What wonderful news!
